Weekly Update 07/09/18

Welcome back!!

We hope that you all had a lovely summer (which was actually sunny!!)
and managed to spend some quality time with friends and family?

Yesterday we welcomed many new children to our school. We know that
you will be very happy here and welcome you and your families to our
PRPS community. Please feel free to contact us at the school should
you have any questions, ideas or concerns.

It was lovely to see our Year 5 and 6 children return in their new
smart uniform with shirts and ties. Some of the Year 3 and 4 children have
also opted to wear shirt and ties too.  We are aware that there was some
confusion over the summer regarding uniforms but please check both the updates and website
for information. We feel that this uniform now demonstrates the ethos
of the school and the standard that we expect.

The school looks super smart in so many ways, many thanks to Mr Mendes
and all that helped him over the summer. Not only have we moved some
rooms but we have also decorated and renovated!

Our preschool is also looking amazing and we are super excited to
welcome our new families and staff. Again thanks to all involved in so
much hard work over the summer.

Welcome to Mr Battye (Year 5/6 Phase Leader and teacher in Year 6) and
Ms Osborne (supporting in Year 5/6) to the school. Both already feel
like part of the team and have fitted in brilliantly. We also welcome
Ms Mendes back from maternity leave.

We have spoken to many parents who have requested an alternative to
fruit to be allowed during playtimes. We have therefore decided to
allow fruit, bread-sticks or crackers to be eaten at playtimes.
Please be mindful that we are a NO NUTS school.

As a school we have a new motto and a new set of values. These have
been created in joint partnership with staff, children, governors and
parents.

Our new motto is: Learning, Believing and Growing Together. And our
values are Perseverance, Respect, Possibilities and Sharing (PRPS).

Mrs Howlett will be focusing on the school values during her time with
the children and the Monday whole school assembly will still be values
led.

This year promises to be an exciting time at Princes Risborough
Primary School. Please remember our up and coming events such as the
Happy Circus and Christmas Fair and support the PTA in helping our
school thrive.

We wish you a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you on Monday.
