Weekly Update 08/09/2017

Welcome back!  We hope that you all had a fantastic summer and that you enjoyed some important family time.

This week we welcome lots of new faces to our school. A warm welcome to all of the new children and families across the school, we really hope you enjoy your time with us.

We also say hello to Mr Sandalls in Year 6, Mr Hobdell in Year 4, Miss Groves supporting in Year 5, Mrs Slevin supporting in Year 4, Mrs Clark, Miss Penson and Ms Purssell all supporting in EYFS. We are sure you will enjoy working here.

For children in Year 3 and 4, their swimming slot is now on a Friday from 1.30pm. Please can all parents return slips to school asap if they haven't already done so.  Also please ensure you send your child to school with their swimming kit and a waterproof coat.

It’s been wonderful to see the children all wearing their correct school uniform.  We remind you that all children need to have a coat in school every day, especially in this temperamental weather.

If your child is in Year 4, 5 or 6 and is allowed to walk home alone you MUST write to the school and let us know that you are happy for them to do so. Without written consent, from Monday 11th  September NO child will be allowed to leave alone at the end of the day.

Please can you pop the 28 September at 8.00pm in your diaries? This is the PTA AGM and your support is much needed. The PTA help the school and fund many additional resources and activities throughout the school year and any support you can offer them would be greatly received.

In July, we informed parents in the newsletter that NO child needed a pencil case in school. The range of expensive stationery that was being brought into school and argued over was extreme and we made a decision that we would not allow personal stationery or pencil cases from September.  Please ensure you do not allow your child to bring in any form of stationary to school.

We have had a large uptake of hot meals once again, which is fantastic to see.  Please remember to book the meals online and with your child so that they know what they are having for lunch!

The holiday camp was a huge triumph and we thank all the staff who were involved in its success.  We now have a section on our website for the holiday and will we notify you of when we can start taking bookings for the October half.

Thank you to Mr Mendes and the site team for all of the work carried out over the summer. We will be putting photos of some of the big changes on the website for you all to see.

Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday morning!
