As we end this week at school we reflect upon the Remembrance that we have shared this week.
Year 4 ran a special assembly on Monday to help us all remember why we recognise the importance of 11th November each year.
Many of our children have been writing poetry and making poppies. Bubblewrap have displayed their poppies beautifully. Mrs Haydon and some of our children will be representing our school in the Remembrance parade on Sunday.
On Tuesday Year 5 and 6 visited Oxford Castle. This was as part of their topic on Crime and Punishment. The feed back from the children has been full of excitement with the tales of the castle and prison. Thank you to all the staff that organised and supported this visit. Experiences like these are so important to enriching our children’s experiences and curriculum.
On Wednesday our Preschool and Early Years team held an information evening. It was lovely to see so many families and have a chance to discuss how to support early learning.
Thank you to all the families that donated clothes for the ‘Bags for School’ collection this week. This will help our PTA raise important funds for our school.
We are so excited and extremely grateful to announce that The Hemley Hillbillies will be playing a gig on Saturday 17th November at Princes Risborough Tesco. They supported us at our summer fair in July and have kindly offered to support us to raise funds for projects in the school. If you are in the area please pop down between 11am and 1pm and give them a cheer (what a good excuse to sing your heart out!).
Thank you to all the volunteers that have helped in the school this week. It is always lovely to welcome visitors and especially nice when members of our community come in to spend time with us.
It was lovely to see Mr Cloutt on Wednesday and for our children to spend time chatting and reading with him. If you can spare some time to help in school please contact the office.
For those of you that haven’t got your disco tickets yet time is running out! Please contact the PTA if your child is wanting to join us for a boogie and fun games tomorrow.
Today the Rotary Club joined us in assembly to present us with a cheque for our school library. We are so appreciative for all of the support that they give us and would like to thank every member of the Rotary Club for their continued support. Without help and support from groups like this we would not be able to create such a wonderful environment for our children.
Next week is National Anti Bullying week. We will be running activities within classes to raise awareness of this. On Monday there will be a special assembly and we are asking all children and staff to wear odd socks to school to support this important cause.
Thank you to the families who attended the E-Safety workshop on Wednesday. Thank you to the NSPCC for running this for us. It is so important in an ever changing technological world that we have information sessions in order to keep everyone safe.
Have a lovely weekend.
