Weekly Update 22/06/2018
We are currently waiting for our Year 6 children and staff to return
from the Isle of Wight. We hope that you have enjoyed the photographs.
I’m sure we will be told all the exciting tales in due course.
The weather forecast is for a mini heat wave next week- please prepare
your children with a hat, water bottle and sun cream (applied before
On Monday we were joined by the staff from Risborough Springs. They
spoke with the children about water safety. It was very informative
and such an important message for all children to hear.
Many of you joined us for EYFS and Key Stage 1 sports day on Tuesday
morning. Once again thank you to Mr Harris, Mr Jackson and all of the
staff who helped. The children had a brilliant time and thoroughly
enjoyed themselves. The winners on the day were the Blue house. Green
house won the Carmichael cup- which is a mixed age race.
Both our Year 3/4 and 5/6 cricket teams have been in action this week.
Well done to all children that have participated. This is a new sport
for fixtures for us and has been a massive success.
On Wednesday our friends from St Mary’s Church joined us for the
annual Lighthouse assembly. We hope that many of our children will be
able to participate this year. It’s a fun filled time with many

test information session on Wednesday.
Yesterday we were treated to a violin assembly in the morning- we are
always amazed at how talented our children are. If your child would
like to learn the violin please contact Mrs Rowlinson.
We then welcomed the theatre company from M & M productions for a
performance of ‘A Little Princess’. We always enjoying seeing the
children’s reactions to live theatre. Thank you to the parents who
also attended- a great time was had by all. We love hearing the
children talking about experiences such as these.
Thank you for all the tombola prizes donated for today’s mufti day.
The Summer Fair is fast approaching!
Please bring any remaining raffle money and ticket stubs, and
decorated envelopes into school as soon as possible.
If you are able to donate cakes, second hand books or plants for sale
at the Fair, you can drop them off in the lunch hall after drop off on
Friday 29th June, or bring them along to the Fair on Saturday 30th
June at 12noon.

Next week we have sports week in school, lots of visitors. Please
ensure that all children have a school PE kit in school on Monday, to
participate in the events children must be in school kit with
appropriate outdoor shoes. We also have visits to the Church for Year
3 and 4, a trip for Year 5 to The Cotswold Wildlife Park and sporting
And last but not least, we have sent home information about our new
Preschool. This is an exciting opportunity for us to offer an
excellent education to children from 2.5 years old. Please be rest
assured that Breakfast club and Bubble Wrap will continue to operate
within the school. We are simply in the privileged position to grow
the school and open our doors to more children and families. Please
