Session Timetable

Morning Session 9am - 12pm

9.00 - 9.20am Children enter the setting and are encouraged to hang their coats / bags on their peg. Children find their names to self-register.
9.20 - 11.40am

Group registration time; children are encouraged to say good morning (+ sign language), discuss the days of the week, weather, counting of the children.

 

Free flow play inside and out, self-selecting activities: painting, junk modelling, water play, sand play, play dough, role-play, book corner, outdoor physical play and a variety of table top activities that develop knowledge in writing skills, letters, numbers, shapes and ICT skills.

 

Snack; available between 10 and 11am. Children find their named snack card and wash their hands. They pour their own drink (milk / water) and help to prepare fruits and vegetables to eat. Snack time provides opportunity to talk about healthy eating and eat socially in small groups.

 

Key person time (weekly adult led activity).

 

Butterfly session (4+ only) 15-20 minutes adult led sessions, helping children to further develop skills they will need in readiness for school, i.e. concentrating on an assigned task, group challenges.

11.40 - 11.45am Tambourine is shaken. Children help tidy up before sitting as a group on the mat.

11.45 - 12.00pm

Alternating story time / singing, action songs and Jolly Phonics. Kindness tree.
12.00pm Home time for children not staying for afternoon session.

 

Afternoon Session 12pm-3pm

12.00 - 1.15pm  

Children joined by others attending the afternoon session. Children wash their hands and eat their packed lunch.

 

Registration time for those not in the morning session; children are encouraged to say good afternoon, discuss days of the week, weather.

1.15 - 2.40pm
