After a short week we reflect on just how much we have squeezed in!
Our new value for May is Self-Belief.
On Tuesday our Key Stage 1 children visited the Oasis Center and all took part in some music and dancing demonstrations. They came back very excited and full of new ideas and dance moves! A big thank you to all the videos we received from parents for home learning!
The school was full of smiling faces on Wednesday as the Early Years children, staff, governors and parents left the school for a fun packed day at Tiggywinkles. For most of the children it was their first school trip and their first time going on a coach! They all behaved beautifully throughout the day and really enjoyed the experience! They saw lots of different animals and learnt about how the staff help look after the them until they are better enough to go back into the wild. The staff at the hospital complimented the children on their manners and their behaviour throughout the day. They all did really well and we are very proud that we can take our youngest children on such an exciting trip.
You will have noticed the change in some of our flower beds and out door environment. Thank you to all of the families that continue to support Mr Pope with this. Special thanks to Mr and Mrs Robson, Mrs Clarke and Mr and Mrs Lodge. This week Mr and Mrs Robson have very kindly donated some new plants and compost for our Woodland Garden at the front of the school as well spending time planting them. We really do appreciate the continual practical and moral support from our parents.
Mr Pope is also still looking for sponsors for hanging baskets. Alice M and Edward M are sponsoring a basket and we look forward to displaying it very soon! If you would like to sponsor a basket, please let us know in Reception.
Our new family (The Ducklings) continue to grow and have become strong and independent. Mummy duck is doing a great job this year and we continue to use this unique opportunity to teach our younger children! Thank you to Mrs Hope for donating duck food!
Mr Chignall has spoken with pride of both our football and rugby teams this week. We have had fixtures galore and appreciate the parental support on the sidelines!
Our 'Mop of the Week' winners enjoyed a lunch treat today. We would encourage you to ask your children about this incentive and let them explain how hard they work towards winning the class prize. Well done to The Snug and to Lynx for being the most recent winners!
We have seen an increase in cases of Headlice at the school. Please check your childs hair this weekend (girls and boys!) Please see our website on how to best treat Headlice www.princesrisboroughprimary.bucks.sch.uk/headlice
Underwear appeal! If you have any spare jogging bottoms or pants/knickers at home that your children have grown out of, we would really appreciate them in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. We seem to be running short on spare underwear, especially boys pants!
On the 18th May, our caterers are hosting a BBQ Menu! So there will be a change when you go to book your child in for their meal. The menu will be:
Burger in a Bun (cheese will be provided if wanted)
A Sausage in roll
A vegetarian sausage in a roll
Corn on the Cob
Ice cream and sprinkles
We have joined a new language scheme, Linguascope, which allows your child to learn a modern language both here at school and at home! Parents have been given the details via email today. We hope this is a tool you will enjoy! Children are able to learn French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Maori, Arabic
Year 6 children have their SATs exams next week. The children have been invited to join us for breakfast before their exams, and we would like to thank the staff who make this possible. We wish our year 6 students all the very best of luck! Year 6 children please stay calm, relaxed and have an early night.! Believe in yourselves as much as we believe in you!
Have a lovely weekend!
