Wow! This week has been busy. Welcome back to all of our children and families and a big 'hello' to all of our new children. It has been lovely seeing all of the smiling, happy faces and hearing about all of the summer adventures.
Sadly Mrs Tennant hasn't been able to join us this week. She was taken into hospital on Sunday evening and has needed this week to rest and recover. She will hopefully join us on Monday. We wish her a speedy recovery and send her all our best wishes.
Thank you to those parents who have contacted the school to let us know how happy their children are coming back to school. This is lovely to hear and we are pleased that we have such a happy environment.
Please can we remind all parents that drive to school of the 'one way' drop of system on Wellington Avenue. You should drive up the road with the school on your left and drop in the 'drop off zone' in order to reduce congestion and dangerous situations. Please do not park opposite the school especially in the morning! The children’s safety is paramount.
All of the children look incredibly smart and well presented. Can we just reiterate that the uniform policy hasn't changed and that grey trousers or skirts have always been our uniform. We require any children that are wearing black trousers or skirts to be in grey by the start of the spring term in January. Thank you for your support. We strive for high standards and uniform is a big part of this.
Today Scarlett received her new bike in assembly- this is due to her winning the attendance draw last term! This same incentive will continue this year and we look forward to issuing many raffle tickets and seeing who the lucky winners will be!
Next week we have after school sessions for parents and children to meet with the phase group leaders. These will start at 3.15pm in the school hall. Please can we ask you to collect your child as normal and then make your way to the front entrance to sign in for the session. These are a fantastic opportunity to meet the phase leaders and find out what your child will be doing this academic year.

Tuesday 13/9/16 Year 3&4
Thursday 15/9/16 Year 1&2
Your child will come home with their new Home Learning Book today. The children were all informed about this in assembly and we look forward to seeing some amazing work. There are instructions in the front of the book to help you and your child. Please encourage them to be as adventurous as possible!
We have voted this week on many roles in school including House Captains, student council reps, class monitors and prefects. Well done to all of the children who wrote speeches and were brave enough to speak in front of their peers. We have a great team of young leaders and there are still plenty of opportunities to come.
We remind you that Mr Chignell has emailed parents to sign up to the Autumn Sports Clubs. We are trialling a more environmentally and efficient way to process slips that come into school and we hope you are also finding this process much easier.
Each club will have a free taster session run on next week (Monday 12th September) for all who would like to try.
The new clubs below will run from Monday 12th September to Friday 9th December. Each session will cost £2.00 per child per session but must be paid in full.
We hope you all have a restful weekend and we look forward to another fantastic week ahead.
