As we all feel very festive at school it seems a good time to reflect upon the brilliant Autumn term. We are very happy with all that we have achieved and will all remember this term for our ‘good’ DFE visit.
Sadly the weather got the better of us on Monday and Tuesday. We were frustrated at having to close and although many of the staff battled the elements to get to school with an unsafe site and then no running water or toilet facilities we were forced to remain shut. Closing a school is never an easy decision but the safety of everyone is paramount and we thank you for your patience and support.
This week has been full of the Christmas spirit and we have been treated to 3 performances of our fabulous Nativity. As always we are immensely proud of our children. The children performed confidently and beautifully, and as always there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Thank you to all that came to watch and we look forward to the finale on Monday at 9.45am.
Our choir has been entertaining our friends in the community with Christmas songs. Well done to all that have been working so hard to make these events amazing, our neighbours really appreciate the visits!
On Wednesday we had our Christmas lunch. Lots of grownups joined us for a fun filled lunchtime and we even had a very special visit from Santa. Thank you to our PTA for your additional support in this event and throughout the term.
Today we all wore our Christmas jumpers and other festive garments. This was to help support the Christmas fair that our PTA are running on Tuesday at 1.15pm. Thank you for all of the amazing tombola prizes that were donated today. Any donations of cakes will be greatly received on Tuesday morning.
On Monday our classes will all be having some seasonal celebrations in the afternoon- please see individual letters for more information. Children need to wear their normal school uniform on this day.
On Tuesday 19th December all children need to be collected at 1.15pm from the playground as usual - you can then re enter the school through the main entrance to attend the Christmas fair.
As part of our ongoing Woodland Trust project we shall be recycling christmas cards and there will be a box in reception where children can bring in all their old cards in the new year. This will help us on our way to achieving the Silver status.
Can we also say thank you to those parents that have volunteered their time this term, we have parents that garden, read with children and volunteer in class every day. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Please see the attached letter from Mrs Kent- our chair of Governors. We would like to thank all of our Governing Board for their continued support and presence in school.
We return to school on Thursday 4th January 2018! How time flies!
In January Mrs Zucchi and Mrs Guerin are both spending some time in other schools as part of their teacher training.
We also have exciting news in that we have a new teacher starting the school. This is due to our school growing! Ms Worth will be teaching in Early Years - with Mrs Haydon.
We look forward to welcoming Ms Worth to the team.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the new year for lots more fun and excitement.
