It’s been a lovely week in school.
The Year 6 children have been just brilliant. They have all finished taking their SATs and have been calm and very mature during the tests. As we have said before these are just a snap shot and don’t tell us about all the other bits that make our children amazing.
On Friday 25 May at the end of school in the lunch hall the PTA are holding a cake sale. 3 cakes for £1. Donations of cakes very gratefully received first thing on that Friday in the lunch hall - no nuts!
Next week is Science week and all year groups will be having science themed lessons every day. Every year group has a wow activity ranging from animals coming in, police forensics visiting, someone who works at Mars, dissection and a workshop with the Woodland Trust. We are using the week to promote science in every day life and inspire children to have a love of all things scientific! Thank you to Miss Bacon for organising this- what a lovely way to end the half term.
On Thursday 24th May Year 6 will be taking part in the Year 6 games at The Mandeville School. Good luck to everyone involved.
Our running track is marked out ready for the up and coming sports days- both promise to be fantastic as always.
Please note KS2 sports day is in the morning on 7th June. KS1 sports day is on the morning of 19th June. In the light of bad weather the reserves dates are 14th June for KS2 and 26th June for KS1.
Our sports photo board is going well- please continue to send in your sporting photos to add to the display.
Thank you to everyone who donned something Red, White and Blue today to celebrate tomorrow’s Royal wedding. It’s always lovely to mark historical events in school and we hope that the children will remember it for years to come.
Good luck to all Manchester United and Chelsea fans for tomorrow’s cup final. Let’s hope it’s a great match for all our budding footballers to watch.
We wish you all a lovely weekend.
