Weekly Update 18/05/2017
We hope that you’ve all had a lovely weekend despite of the weather!
This week the Year 2 pupils have taken their SATS. The children were very relaxed and calm, they did really well and were so proud of them! Many of the children didn't even realise that they were taking the SATS and some even said they enjoyed the process and wished it could continue! Well done to all of the children, staff and parents in Year 2.
We are hugely excited to share the news that Mr and Mrs Tomlin have had a healthy baby boy. Many congratulations to them!
On Thursday 25th May Year 6 (and some of Year 5) will be taking part in the Year 6 games in Aylesbury. We wish them lots of luck and look forward to hearing all about it! Parents have received a letter with further details about the day.
Please can we ask all visitors to the school to be respectful of the local residents especially with parking and litter. Please refrain from parking on the kerbs - it can be difficult to walk on the pavement and making situations dangerous - in some cases children have had to walk in the road which we must avoid at all costs.
The Rotary Club held a competition titled 'My World'. All of the entries were submitted and the winners were framed and exhibited in the local art gallery! Congratulations to Freya in came first place, Qasima in second, Jaiden in third and Jorja and Cain who were highly commended! Well done to all of the children that took part.
The children have been sent home learning which is based on designing a new logo for the Great Learners Trust. All of the judging will take place for the MAT logo competition next week and we look forward to seeing which will be chosen – the standard of entries has been excellent!
Again, we are remind you that we have a rule that children should not bring in any toys into school – this includes spinners, cuddly toys, footballs, cards etc.
Mix96 will be in school on Monday to help us plant a tree that has been donated to us for taking part in Green week. We can’t wait!
We will be making a start on the year 6 leavers book, letters will be sent home next week as we need some information from each pupil!
Premier sport used to provide a holiday club here at the school, however, they are no longer able to do so. We understand that this provision was really important to the local community as well as our parents, so it has been agreed that we can organise our own holiday club! There is lots to organise however, so we will not have the provision up and running for the May half term, but we will be ready for the Summer holidays! Mr Chignell will be supporting us with this provision along with other members of the school staff. We are really excited by this new venture! We will keep you posted with the latest news!
Wishing you a lovely and dry weekend!
