Weekly Update 19/10/2018

In the last week of the half term we would like to thank you all for your unwavering support. We would especially like to congratulate our Year 5 and 6 children on a great few weeks. The children have taken part in various assessments, lead school tours, school assemblies and supported other children within the school. Thank you to the parents who have recognised this and for the suggestions made. We know that
the children feel appreciated and I have passed on the positive

We are excited that we will be hosting an O2 and NSPCC online safety workshop for parents and carers. The workshop will take place in the school hall at 2pm on 7th November and is an approximately an hour long. This will allow pick up from the playground at normal time.

Please don’t forget that the PTA have arranged a Bag2School collection for Wednesday 7th November. You should have received a collection bag via your child ready for you to fill with good quality second-hand clothing. Please see for full details of what you can put in your bag.

Please bring in your bags on Wednesday 7th November to the front of school (under the tree) before 9am. Bag2School collect the bags and pay into school funds based on the weight of what we have, so the more we can collect, the more we can raise!

If you need further information please see or contact us on . If you need extra bags, please ask at the School reception desk.

On Tuesday our Year 4 and 5 children took part in a football match away at Downley School. The children did well but unfortunately were defeated. Our aim for this academic year is to promote and raise the participation in sport across all year groups in the school; we understand that this initiative may come with some disappointing results. This is part of our journey and we are happy that so many
children are trying new sports and activities. We have successfully won two Fair Play awards this half term. This is particularly pleasing as one was for Key Stage 1 and one for Key Stage 2. It is always nice for external bodies to recognise how amazing our children are.

Year 1 went on their Autumn Walk on Monday. Although it was wet and windy the children had a fantastic time. The treasures that the children discovered were truly lovely. It was wonderful to see so many excited faces and hear the amazing stories that they returned with. Thank you to the parents that supported us with this event.

Over the half term we have building works within school – this will not impact on our Holiday Camp. Spaces for the camp are limited, please follow the booking process on

We hope that you enjoy the half term break, we return to school on Tuesday 30th October and will see you after school today for cake!
