We trust that you have all had a good week?
Thank you to those parents of Year 6 children who attended the SATS meeting on Tuesday evening. We hope that you found it beneficial. The information from the evening will be available on our website.
Well done to our House Captains from Year 6 who now run their own weekly assembly. This can be a daunting experience for them but they are doing an amazing job! They are confident and show great resilience. We know that they are inspiring the House Captains of the future!
On Thursday we held a School Council meeting. The children discussed the school uniform and even the possibility of introducing an optional tie! They also discussed their role within the school and the opportunity to conduct tours and be on interview panels. The children are responsible for the topics that we discuss and it's great to see them so animated and passionate about their school.
Last week years 3 & 4 had a guest speaker to start off their new topic of pre-history and the romans. Professor David Breeze entertained the children with facts about living in roman Britain. He showed them some artefacts and answered their many questions! What a brilliant experience.
All of the staff and children have now started their training on growth mindset. Please talk with your children about the 'Learning Pit' and ask how their learning journey is going. The school community is very excited about the future and growing together.
We have an exciting opportunity for key stage 2 parents to work with their children to help them with their learning in school. This term the focus is "Fun with words" it is all about skills needed in English. This will include the teaching of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
The course is every Monday 1pm-3pm and tea, coffee and cake will be provided!
Hopefully you will have received your flyer inviting you to attend the parents meeting on Growth Mindsets to be held on 31st January at 7pm. We really do encourage you to come along, not only is Growth Mindset an educational revolutionary tool, but YOU may also come away from the meeting feeling inspired and ready to tackle the world!
We wish you all a safe and happy weekend.
