Weekly Update 29/09/2017

We have had a brilliant week this week.

A big welcome to our new families and pupils. We know that you will be very happy here!

Thank you to the families that have offered to support us with our Pets in School idea by offering to buy, feed and care for our future school pets.  We will be discussing this at our school council meeting next week – the children will be very excited at the prospect of chickens and guinea pigs which will provide wonderful learning experiences!

Well done to all our new prefects.  A special congratulations to Kaya and Shaun in Year 6, who were chosen to be our new head girl and head boy. We have lots of exciting roles for you, both in and out of school.

On Monday our KS2 children took part in a local cross country event against Griffin House. We are very pleased to announce that we won!!!! The children were amazing and should be very proud of their efforts! What a great start to the season.

Mrs Bowen is looking forward to the family learning sessions which start on Monday. She adds;

Family learning is starting on Monday. It is a 4 week course starting on Monday afternoons 1-3pm and is open to to all year 2 and 3 parents.

We also have our E-Safety course which are open to all parents starting next Thursday morning in the computing suite.

If there are any other type courses that parents would be interested in doing, please let the school know.

On Thursday, Year 1 and 2 pupils went on an Autumn Trail. The children had a fantastic time and were excited by their adventure. Please see the class pages on the school website for all of our recent photographs.

We are aware that our external sports club provider has cancelled some clubs at very short notice. We are working really hard with our provider to ensure that clubs continue, even if that means we manage them ourselves.  We will keep you all up to date if changes occur.

You will have received information this week about the school changing the company we use to manage payments and communication.  We really do advise you to download the app as it is so simple to use!  More information can be found on the school we bsite (Parents>Payments).  We are slowly integrating items over, such as breakfast club, when these are available to ‘buy’ you will receive a notification.  Thank you to those parents who have already signed up – we hope you are enjoying the system.  If you have any trouble using the School Gateway, please speak to the admin team.

A huge thank you to the parents who have returned the voluntary contribution form.  It really does make such a big difference to the school  to have parents supporting us, no matter how big or small the donation, so genuinely a big thank you.

Remember to look at the calendar on the website as all important dates and events are added on there!

I hope you all have a peaceful weekend.
