School Uniform

At Princes Risborough Primary School our appearance is of the utmost importance to us and makes us feel like we belong. It also supports our attitude to learning and develops pride in ourselves. If we look smart, then we think smart and act smart.

Our school council pupils recently met and agreed that year 5 and 6 pupils would like to start wearing a tie (this is also optional for pupils in year 3 and 4) from September 2018.

Jewellery

The wearing of jewellery in school is not permitted with exception of one pair of plain studded earrings and a watch. This is to ensure the health and safety of the children. Children are not allowed to wear any jewellery for PE and must be able to remove earrings by themselves.

If children are unable to remove their own earrings, please do not allow them to wear them on PE days.

Hair and Accessories

We expect hair styles to be presentable and smart without being too extreme. Long hair must be tied back for PE. During lesson time, we encourage hair to be tied back so not to hinder learning. Accessories, such as head bands, need to be sensible in appearance and size.

We encourage children of all ages to be independent and responsible for their own belongings. However, we are aware that this is not always easy. Therefore, please ensure that all uniform, including PE kit and bags, is clearly labelled. Without this, it is almost impossible to return uniform to the correct child.

We use PL Schoolwear to provide our customised school uniform. Other generic uniform such as grey trousers, skirts and shirts can be purchased from various outlets.

PL Schoolwear also visit the school twice a year so parents can purchase uniform and have it delivered to the school.
