ARP Class Blog 2023-24

22nd March 2024

On Friday the ARP were invited to Windsor Lodge to take part in some art and craft activities with the residents. Everybody had lots of fun making Easter cards, decorating eggs and eating hot cross buns! The staff and residents all commented on how polite the children were and have invited them all back again in the summer.

The ARP took part in the Curly Wurly Challenge for Science week. The longest they managed was 172cm!!

The Year 4 children had a fabulous day at the Look Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell. They enjoyed all the hands on science exhibits, exploring space in the planetarium dome and walking the 88 steps up to the top of the Look Out Tower!

23rd February

The school councillors spoke to us about choices for fundraising. We discussed democracy and how this links to our British Values. We all voted and these votes will be added to the rest of the school's votes. We are excited to hear which of the three options gained the most support.

The ARP have really enjoyed practising their “multi-skills” in PE this week with Mr Pearce. They have been learning archery, tenpin bowling, mini golf, bean bag throwing and have played another game where they have learnt how to aim. They all had lots of fun!

2nd February 2024

In the ARP this week Mrs Bowen’s group have been learning about arrays and multiplication. We have been using our skills of counting in 2s,5s and 10s to solve problems.

We have been busy in the ARP this week practicing our swimming and PE skills.

In PE we have been improving our throwing and catching skills with Mr Pearce and then transferring these skills to play a game of Dodgeball. We all really enjoy playing the game, it's one of our favourites!!!

8th September 2023

We have had a brilliant first week back in the ARP and it has been lovely welcoming our two new children. This week we have celebrated two ARP birthdays and the children have enjoyed sharing birthday cake!

We have also been learning about different settings in English and thinking about different ways we could describe settings using new and interesting vocabulary. Finally, the children have really enjoyed their first PE session with Mr Pearce. They have learnt how to play golf, archery and a new game, battleships.
